FAQs
Let’s compare the potential costs of waxing compared to laser hair removal. To estimate costs, we’ll consider a typical scenario of an individual who gets wax treatments every month from when they turn 18 until the age of 60.
Assuming the following approximate costs per session:
Full leg waxing $70.
Under arm waxing $20
Brazilian waxing: $35
You would end up spending.
Full-leg waxing: 720 appointments x $70= $50,400
Underarm waxing 720 appointments x $20= $14, 400
Bikini waxing: 720 appointments x $35= $25,200
Save by investing in Laser Hair removal, a permanent solution that permanently removes 80-90% of hair within approximately 6-8 sessions!
Laser hair removal operates on the principle of emitting concentrated light pulses into the skin and hair follicles. These pulses are absorbed by the melanin, the pigment within the follicles, which in turn generates heat. The follicle is then subjected to this heat, leading to its destruction and the loss of its ability to regrow hair.
Achieving optimal results requires multiple treatment sessions due to the distinct phases of hair growth:
⦁ Anagen Phase: This is when the hair is actively growing.
⦁ Catagen Phase: During this phase, the follicle begins to shrink, and hair growth ceases.
⦁ Telogen Phase: In this phase, the hair shaft disconnects and naturally falls out.
Only hair in the Anagen phase can be effectively treated, emphasizing the importance of scheduling 6-8 sessions every few weeks. The actual number of sessions required varies based on factors such as ethnicity, age, hormonal influences, and the individual’s hair growth cycle.
It’s important to discontinue waxing, any hair removal creams, tweezing and electrolysis as well as bleaching hair up to six weeks before treatment. Two weeks before treatment it’s important to avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tans and self tanners. Three days before treatment stop using topical prescriptions.
Shave the area being treated 1-2 days before your appointment. If we’re treating an area with fine hair like your face, you may trim the area with scissors or a facial trimmer if you prefer.
Before delving into the instructions for post-care, let’s discuss the anticipated outcomes. Over the next two weeks, approximately 10% to 15% of the hair in the treated area will naturally shed. During this period, you may continue to shave. However, it’s crucial to avoid waxing, bleaching, plucking, or any method that could extract the hair follicles. You may notice hair regrowth. Nevertheless, with several sessions, the regrown hair typically becomes softer, finer, and less dense. Consistency is key, so it’s important to complete your entire treatment package to achieve the most effective hair reduction results possible (80%-90%!).
REMEMBER TO HYDRATE YOUR SKIN Following your treatment, apply a thin layer of moisturizer to the treated area as needed, moisturizing it at least three times a day to help alleviate any irritation.
AVOID SUN EXPOSURE We highly advise against direct exposure to the sun and tanning beds for a minimum of three days after your treatment. Whenever you are outside, remember to apply sunblock with a minimum SPF of 50+ to the treated area. Additionally, consider using protective measures such as broad-brimmed hats, oversized sunglasses, and appropriate clothing to shield your skin.
STAY COMFORTABLE AND DRY It’s time to reschedule your plans for beach outings, spa visits, and intense workout sessions. For the first 24 hours following your treatment, avoid steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, pedicures, and activities that cause excessive sweating. Furthermore, refrain from swimming for at least three days after the procedure to promote proper healing.
TAKE IT EASY IN THE SHOWER Opt for shorter showers with cool or lukewarm water instead of hot baths. Avoid excessive scrubbing or shaving of the treated area. After showering, gently pat the area dry using a clean towel.
STEER CLEAR OF IRRITATING SUBSTANCES This includes harsh soaps, medicated washes, scrubs, peels, and topical prescription products like retinoids, for a minimum of three days. We recommend using only Vaseline, Aquaphor, hydrocortisone 1%, or sunscreen as needed. If necessary, you can apply makeup on the same day. Just remember not to scrub the area!
It really depends on your hair density and thickness, but most of our patients just describe it as a very tolerable prickling sensation and some feel minimal to no pain at all. We understand the importance of evaluating your pain threshold and taking appropriate measures to ensure your comfort during the treatment. We offer various methods to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you. For instance, we have settings to cool your skin throughout the entire treatment. Additionally, we provide stress balls and ice packs, particularly for those sensitive areas.
The short answer is yes! Our state-of-the-art laser technology ensures that the treated area effectively destroys the hair follicle.
There is no 100% sure way to remove hair. The good news is Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction by up to 80-90 percent after a series of approximately six to eight treatments.
There are a few potential side effects, but nothing crazy. The most common ones include redness, swelling, itching or laser bumps, but by following our aftercare instructions, they should go away within a day or two. Your technician will give you more detailed information at your appointment.
It depends on the hair’s density and the location of the area being treated. Because only hair follicles in the active growth stage can be successfully targeted during a laser hair removal treatment, you will need multiple sessions. On average, we recommend six to eight treatments, spaced six to eight weeks apart (numbers vary slightly for face).

FOR REDNESS, SWELLING OR DISCOMFORT
Apply cool ice packs to the affected area, taking them on and off every three to five minutes for one to two hours (do not apply ice pack for more than five minutes at a time). Also, apply hydrocortisone 1%, Vaseline® to the affected area up to three times a day until it resolves.
FOR ITCHING
We recommend taking oral liquid Benadryl®, Reactine®, or Claritin® as needed, as well as applying hydrocortisone 1%, and Vaseline® to the affected area up to three times per day until it resolves. Also, avoid scratching the area.
FOR LASER BUMPS
These are normal and very common in areas with coarse, dense hair, and their presence indicates an effective laser treatment. Also known as folliculitis, these small bumps will resolve within a few days, and will be less intense with each subsequent treatment. To help them resolve quickly, avoid direct heat, as well as activities that cause you to sweat. Avoid picking, scratching, shaving, and tight clothing. Apply hydrocortisone 1% and Vaseline® 3 times a day until resolved.
